Colleen asked me to write about the podcasts I’m listening to these days. Turns out that it was almost exactly a year ago that I wrote my last podcast list. Some stuff has changed in the last year, some hasn’t.
A few things to note: I’ve listed the podcast title, and I’ve linked to wherever the podcast links to. I you can’t find the podcast at that link, go to iTunes and search for the title I’ve given.
I’ve noticed that the sermon podcasts that I listen to are basically just people I know, people I want to keep following. I don’t really listen to sermons for information, so the sermons you’ll find in here are all people I know or follow closely in some way.
There’s a lot of sports podcasts in this group! I think partly this is due to the fact that I love a good interview, and even though I perhaps only listen to 10% of the episodes, I also notice that I listen to sports when I’m going to sleep, as they help my brain settle down.
I’d love to know what you’re listening to also!

I spoke about David at my friend’s church today while he was out on vacation. They’re doing a series about Biblical characters using clips from the TV show Heroes (which I haven’t seen).
If you’re curious and want to listen in, here is the recording.

I’ve done this before and had some interesting comments, so I’ll update my list of current podcast subscriptions.
I don’t always listen to all of these - that’s a lot of stuff - but I find that these are the ones I’m usually checking out at least every now and then. I also listen to podcasts at night when I’m going to sleep, or to get me back to sleep after waking up to check on Brogan (often I have a hard time falling back asleep, but if I’m hearing somebody else’s thoughts in my heads, that works out better).

As I wrote a while back, we’re doing a parallel processing exercise at the moment, looking at Jesus from a fresh perspective and discussing our way through all 4 gospels at once.
This past Sunday we discussed the question, “how does Jesus train his disciples?”. I recorded the discussion on my iRiver, did some very light postprocessing on it (amplifying the volume, that’s it), and posted it to a share point.
Here’s a link to that discussion. 40 min, 18mb or thereabouts.

Last night I had a fantastic time with some of my church plant coaches, Rich and Rose Swetman of Vineyard Community Church in Shoreline, WA. On the drive home, I decided it would be helpful to brain-dump some of the prophetic encouragement that we sensed in prayer, so I recorded that in my iRiver.
Beware! These are both heavy on background noise (recorded on my car drive home, and my new car isn’t exactly quiet
), unscripted, just a brain-dump. But they may be helpful for some of you.
