The Prophet Wendell Berry

Last weekend I stopped by the ultra-cool Auntie’s Books and went sniffing around for Wendell Berry books. I chose this one:

Sex, Economy, Freedom & Community : Eight Essays

I’ve just started reading it (actually started reading it on the way home, sitting in the one restaurant in Coulee City, Washington having a fine steak dinner). It links many of the problems of our contemporary American life with the destruction of rural community.

This man’s a prophet. Unfortunately, an incredibly accurate one.

I can’t remember where I first heard about this guy, but I am definitely going to appreciate reading more of his work.

Hey, she was available and well within walking distance ;-)

I was able to resist and only pick up a couple books though, so that's restraint for me..
