Life with a Toddler, Part 72642

My lovely 19-month-old daughter is frequently picky when it comes to her breakfast foods. She had a couple bites of cereal today, then said she was all done and wanted down from the high chair.

I asked if she wanted bananas – “no no”.
Cheese? “no no”.
Bread? “no no”.
oranges? “no no”.
Grapes? no no”.

Getting frustrated, I toss one out, off the cuff:
Do you want monkey spittle?

Her eyes get wide and full of life, enthusiastically nodding yes.

So I cut up an apple and in a big show rustled things around in the fridge to put some monkey spittle on the apples.

She ate a few chunks.
