After reading this post, I did a search for an old I-monk post on Jesus and AA. I read through the comments and noticed your comment there to my surprise! So . . . have you read the Big Book yet?

I think you would enjoy the Big Book. For the long-time Christian it's a strange and fascinating read, just as AA is in general. The coolest part is that more that half of it (I think) are testimonials–stories from alcoholics–their bondage and their freedom.

And I bet you'd really dig working the steps. I've got a modified set at my blog we've been working to become more Christlike. I can say I'm less of a jerk today than I was when I started! The progress has been encouraging. I'd welcome your thoughts on AA & our modified steps, especially in light of what you've been studying. Hope all is well.
