St. Patrick’s Breastplate Wordle
October 15th, 2008
I’ve blogged before about the prayer known as St. Patrick’s Breastplate or Patrick’s Lorica. Here’s the text of this lovely piece of spirituality.
Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. The bigger a word in the image, the more times it was used in the text.

Don’t you think these wordles you’ve been posting would make a lovely book of prayer and meditation? Pairing the prayer on the left facing page (in a nice light font with lots of white space around it) with the wordle on the right page for further meditation after the prayer has been read.
Yeah, actually I have been thinking that – I think there’s good value in meditating on those words, and also in comparing them to my everyday vocabulary to see what things I emphasize when I speak :-)
