Not sure if this is what you mean or not, but in January I was in Swaziland, and stood in the shade at a carepoint, with an orphan (who'd lost both parents) perched on my hip. We spent the better part of an hour like that. When it was time to go, I looked into his eyes and told him (and vowed to myself) that I would never forget him.

He informs many of the decisions I make now. I am still in the early stages of change, but seeing Jesus in a small, fragile body with brown skin made everything look different.

Pat,

Oooo...pretty new blog. I haven't been over here yet.

Here's something I wrote about wedding vows awhile back.

I didn't have to make vows at my ordination, but I think a lot of traditions do include that. I have take, written, and asked others to take some pretty specific vows at anointing ceremonies for children though.

I'm interested to see what others have say.
