I've been drawn to the idea of monasticism for a while now- my readings of which actually restored my faith not too long ago. A fascinating radio interview with a "new monastic" named Shane Claiborne can be found at http://speakingoffaith.publicradio.org/programs/n...

Hope you enjoy!

I'm an international associate/friend of the Northumbria community. I've been praying using their book and following their journey for several years. There were some gatherings in Minneapolis recently (oct. 07) but it was out of my budget. I've been in contact with Sarah who is the NC USA coordinator, but I need to reconnect again. We are learning from the NC.

Peace.

Eliacin - That sounds fantastic. I know that the Celtic bent that MSA/MSH takes is very interesting for me as well, and I also want to ask you more about your relationship with Northumbria Community.

Pat,

Let's coordinate for a meet up. I believe we have much in common in our interest for monastic spirituality in the postmodern context. MSA/MSH is praying and planting some seeds for a rule of life. We are also working on some new monastic urban and rural communities. I would like for us to explore how we might collaborate and grow together.
