There was an excellent interview with President Carter last night on NPR exploring the convergence between church and state. I love what this man has done in his post-presidency: working with Habitat for Humanity, proactively negotiating peace between warring peoples, and being a voice for social justice. I find him to be a deeply Christlike man.
You’ll enjoy the above interview. It touches on the Southern Baptist Convention, abortion, Christian Zionism and rapture, Israel, intelligent design, and other topics.

1I heard some of that this morning on NPR - he described his dissatisfaction with increasing fundamentalism in the SBC, and his withdrawal from it, despite his continued commitment to being a conservative evangelical Christian.
