★ Incarnational Tattooing

from → Uncategorized

This article is in today’s Seattle Times, describing the evangelical Christian who’s organizing the Seattle Tattoo Convention.

Conklin opened his business 2 ½ years ago, one more counterculture Seattleite only to those who know nothing about tattoos or their fans.

And because he’s a Christian and it’s his shop, Conklin packs up his needle gun and hosts Bible studies at Super Genius after closing every Wednesday night.

I think this is great. Not because it makes Christianity cooler, but because the Christian exists in the real world. Imagine that.

    What tatoos do you have?

I currnetly have none, j. I haven't found or created the right design want to be on me for as long as my tattoo-artist-friend says, "your whole life plus a few months" :-) . A celtic cross would be a nice starting point, but everybody's got one of those these days. You?

I have no ink. I have to increase my pain threshold first. But I was thinking, if ever, it'd be the "Chi Rho." You know, the Px one might find in the Roman Catholic Church. It's all about Christ, but also acknowledges (for me anyway) my roots in that church.
